18 Dec 2008 Mmmm Rain

I’ve been so lucky the past few days. It’s been rainy, overcast and cold. Today we got super windy added to the mix. I don’t really mind the wind when it’s rainy, I however don’t like it much when it’s warm or sunny. Simi Valley seems to have more wind than any place I’ve ever lived.

I thinks it’s a beautiful day out today, and I don’t understand how people hate the rain. It makes me happy. I hate driving in it, but I even found when I worked, I enjoyed working more on rainy days.

I want to sit around all cozy & warm, sipping coffee, and eating soup.

I hope one day I can move to Washington, someplace where it rains all the time. I was born in the wrong state.

James Douglas Morrison- (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971) was an American singer, poet, songwriter, writer, and film director. He is best known as the lead singer and lyricist of The Doors, and is widely considered to be one of the most charismatic and influential frontmen in rock music history.[1] He was also the author of several books of poetry,[1] and the director of a documentary and short film.

Today, was the 37th Anniversary of Jim Morrison’s death.

I first discovered The Doors when I was 16. I listened to their music nearly everyday for 10 years straight, read every book about Jim Morrison or The Doors that I could get my hands on, & read his poetry books. I saw The Doors tribute band "Wild Child" more times then I can count just to be able to experience the music live, and a little of what Jim Morrison was like, and had every video. I looooved them so much.

So, here is my tribute to Jim Morrison. I’m fairly pleased with this even though after I was finished, & I looked at the original, I realized that my shoulders shouldn’t have been straight and my hands aren’t perfect. Whatcha gonna do?!

27 May 2008 Stockpile- Week 2

So, last week was my first week with The Grocery Game.

It went like this:

*Total off the shelf price: $191.00

*Out Of Pocket: $103.00

*Saved: $88.00 (46%)

This weekend I printed my lists and did my shopping with Jeremy, and here is my breakdown:

*Total off the shelf price: $494.00

*Out Of Pocket: $231.00

*Saved: $263.00 (53%)

It is a little time consuming right now, as I am trying to juggle my list and coupons…but I am going to get a binder, and photo album inserts to put my coupons in so I can see them and stuff. I’m sure I will get faster the more I get used to it. I am actually having fun shopping. It really is like this game, getting the cheapest prices, and stocking up on stuff for cheap.

Yesterday, I kept teasing Jeremy and saying “Isn’t this fun?” and he was sarcastically saying “Oh yeah, baby! This is great!”.

Then we walked out and he looked on his receipt, and said “Okay this is kinda fun!” LOL!

The best is I bring him, and the coupons I have double of, I give him the doubles, and have him check out with the double products so we get the double coupons, and I don’t have to make 2 trips. It cracks me up though watching him…this tattooed guy using coupons. LOL!

Now, I’m a freak and want a deep freezer. LOL! I think in a month or so, I am going to get one, once my stockpile grows and I am spending less at the store for food all together.

Here’s my stockpile for 1 full week:

19 May 2008 Never Been This Excited

To go grocery shopping!

So, today I got 2 of the Sunday L.A. Times and excitedly tore through it to find the coupons. There have been a few times in my years as a Mom to where I clipped coupons, and I used them for a bit, but the savings really wasn’t worth the hassle.

Well, today I printed two of my lists from The Grocery Game for Vons and Ralphs. I highlighted the items I had coupons for, which was more then I anticipated for one week. It’s going to take a few weeks to build my stash of coupons so I have one for each item on the list, so I can get everything I need. I took out the coupons I will need out of my pile, and printed some more coupons off of The Grocery Game website. Well except for one, because it wouldn’t work. I’m going to have to work on that tomorrow before I head out.

I have never, ever, ever been excited to grocery shopping until today. I can’t wait to go in the morning, and get the things on my list to start my stock pile.

Some things I am going to get are:

30 Nov 2007 Ideas

Day 162, originally uploaded by Steph N..
I have this idea.
I was thinking when I finish the 365 Day Project, I might want to do it again at some point. Maybe not though, because it is so difficult to take a picture of yourself every single day. The difficulty for me lies in trying to think of something to do for my picture. I spend the day trying to think of a plan. By the time I know it is late and/or bedtime, so I just snap one of my feet or me sitting in the chair in front of the T.V.. I just reach over to my right, grab the camera off the tripod, or move the tripod in front of me, take like 3 pictures, and there ya go. All done. It is kinda disappointing when I take one of those pictures. So, my idea was to take a picture in the same spot everyday. Like for instance this picture in my post. Everyday, I sit in this spot on this chair. I can do whatever I want in the picture. If I’m not feeling it, then I can just sit there with absolutely no energy. If I am into it, I can do whatever I want as long as it is in that spot, in that chair.
I like the uniformity to that.
Also, is it totally vain that I want to get all of my pictures printed out and put in a book somehow? I think that would be so cool, for my kids to have when I die in a long time.

Or, it would be really cool, to do a weekly picture of both of the kids together or separate. I actually think I am going to do that! How cool of a gift would that be for Christmas for the Grandparent’s or relatives? Or just even for yourself to have. You could have them in a book of some sort. Oh! I am so excited! Okay, I have a new project. I think I’m going to start it next week. The ideas are rolling in right now, on how to make the book. I’m thinking black paper with the corner things to stick the picture on it, then bind it.

28 Nov 2007 Photoshop Obsessed
 |  Category: Me, Mumbo Jumbo, Pictures, Web, fun |  2 Comments

I am really addicted to photoshopping people’s pictures in photoshop. Like, you know when you see someone’s picture and you know they could look better? So, you start imagining then with their hair a certain way or if they had different eyebrows, or wore a little more makeup on their eyes or did their makeup a little different? Yeah, that is what I do. I steal people’s pictures, and photoshop them to look how I think they should look. I wish I could post some of them here, but I’m not gonna.

I gotta go to bed, but I want to do one more picture.

14 Nov 2007 Dilemmas

I’m bummed out because Jeremy is buying a VW single cab this weekend. Which I am grateful for because that is all he has done for the past 3 months is compulsively look at all the ones for sale. I kept teasing him because he’s waiting for his friend to buy his ‘56 Oldsmobile, so he can buy a single cab…and I was wondering why he was looking when he couldn’t even buy yet. I mean he was like looking, and putting all this time into it. I told him to wait until he gets the money, then look. Well his friend is going to get the money this week, and Jeremy found the perfect one for him. Only problem is it’s in Sacramento. About 6 1/2 hours away. I want to go with him, but I’m not sure what to do with the damn dogs. I know Chillee will be okay, but Betty ripped the new couch up after 4 hours. 12 she will really destroy something. We thought of taking them with, but we have to take his friends truck to tow it. Plus, Betty shakes the whole time she’s in the car, and sits on Chillee’s back. LMAO!

Then Chase has a baseball game, and also his baseball party on Saturday. I really want to go with Jeremy though. I looooove road trips.

Should I just go and miss Chase’s baseball game and party & torture Betty with 12 hours in a car?

10 Nov 2007 Fake Eyelashes
 |  Category: Me, Mumbo Jumbo, Vanity, fun |  Leave a Comment

I just applied some fake eyelashes, and boy do they feel weird to me. I don’t really even like the ones I go either. I think I applied one to close to the inside. Also, someone on the message boards I go tolinked to this site that has tutorials on how to do hair do’s and make up and stuff. So I tried this hairdo, and I like it. I think my hair is kinda heavy though so the poof falls down, quickly.

I used to be able to have a super poof in the back of my hair. It was just trained to do it, and I didn’t really even have to back comb it or anything. It just poofed like good hair should. Then somewhere along the past 4 years, it decided that it hated me and will no longer poof. Jeremy misses the poof also.
