Did anyone watch the Oprah show on Puppy Mills? It was on awhile back, and then there was another on sort of like an update or something yesterday possibly?

Well, I recorded the origin show. I usually record Oprah, and delete the ones I don’t care about. So, I’ve had the puppy mill show on there for quite some time. I’d be looking for something to watch, and I’d go through the Oprah shows, and pass over that particular show. I wanted to watch it, but when I thought about it I got a knot in my stomach.

It recorded again yesterday or something, and it was at the top. There was nothing else on, so I pressed play. I started out covering my eyes. I watched a lot of the first 10 minutes like that. Then when I watched there was a lot of groaning, and me saying things like “I fucking hate people!”.

Then there was the happy parts where the man who rescues these dogs, takes them to the rescue, they get medical care, and groomed and adopted. Yay!

THEN! The show takes you to Fort Worth, TX. to a shelter. The guy there shows you the process of how they Euthenise the dogs. From the process of picking out the dog, they show the dog, he marks his card with a red “E”, and if that dog isn’t adopted that day…the next morning they are put to sleep, they show that mornings process “Let’s start with cage 1″, you see them going to get the dog. Then they show you them putting a dog down…I think…my face were covered with my hands as I sobbed.

I cried hard, and it was the saddest thing ever. I really can’t understand how people can do that. I understand that there are a lot of dogs out there, and what is the shelter going to do with the dog?

Yet, still it is so sad. It’s heart wrenchingly sad for me to watch dogs or animals in general to be mistreated. To me mistreated is leaving your dog in your backyard it’s whole life like it’s a plant or something, even if it’s had a dog house. Obviously mistreatment of dogs gets far, far worse then that…but I still feel really bad for those dogs left in yards or chains.

Before we got Betty, we went to a couple animal shelters in the Valley to look at the dogs and give them love. It seemed like at least 1/4 of the shelters was Pit Bulls. Same on Oprah. Every shelter they showed, had at least 2 Pit Bulls in the line of runs they went down. We spent time with all the Pit Bulls there, because you know the chances of them being adopted by a nice loving family is slim to none. Especially the really big guys who look a little intimidating, even though they are just a much love bugs as the chihuahua down the way.

I never really know what my passions are, or what I want to do with my life. I’m 32, shouldn’t I know this? Anyway, I do know that animals are a huge passion for me. They always have been. I like animals better then people. Dogs are my favorite though. I feel like I have a connection with them.

I’ve wanted to volunteer at a shelter and walk the dogs, and give them love. I just can’t bring myself to do it though. It’s emotionally draining going to the pound for me. It bums me out, and makes me sad. I get choked up as I leave, and feel like a jerk that I can’t bring them all home with me and give them love, and a warm comfy house to sleep in.

I think I could volunteer at a rescue at least they aren’t being squirted with a hose as their run gets cleaned out of the poop and urine. A place where the dogs are treated with kindness and love. So, even though they don’t have a home or a family they aren’t being mistreated.

So, I’m going to find a pit bull rescue that Jeremy and I can go volunteer at on the weekends.

I find myself becoming a tight wad where money is concerned.

Usually everyday I don’t go anywhere so I don’t spend money. I love when 3 days have gone buy and I haven’t spent any money on anything with the exception of food.

I’ve learned that cooking dinner costs about as much as it does for us all to eat fast food everyday…so that is a huge reason I don’t cook on top of the hating to cook part. I hate going to the grocery store and buying groceries for lunches, breakfast, and things like eggs, bread, milk, butter and finding that I spent $100 and didn’t even get stuff for one dinner.

Last night I was watching the news, and there was a segment about The Grocery Game. You know those women who are fanatical about clipping coupons, and can buy $150 worth of groceries for $30? Well this lady put together this site, and does all the work for you in telling you where the deals are and what they are, and she makes lists for your grocery stores/drug stores in your area, and compiles these lists with deals coming up, coupons that are out or in the store and how cheap you can get these items, and a lot of them are free. So what you do is stockpile stuff and build up to a stockpile of stuff you use that will last you 12 weeks, because I guess that is how long it takes for the deals on items to come back around.

It cost $10 for one store, and $5 for each additional store every 8 weeks. There is a 4 week trial offer right now for $1, so I signed up. I was looking on the message boards of some of these womens stockpiles, and I am in awe!!! It’s like there own little grocery stores in their homes. It would be awesome to be able to run out to the garage and grab some shampoo or a razor from your stockpile when you run out. Like right now, I need laundry detergent and fabric softener and dryer sheets…and I don’t’ want to go to the store. It would be awesome if I had a stockpile and I wouldn’t need to do that.

This is totally going to make it cheaper to eat at home, and for me to save money.

I feel like I just found this little secret or something, and I’m so damn excited about getting the Sunday paper to clip coupons.

If you go sign up, be sure to refer me and use my email: steph at blue – bus dot com.

Last night I wasn’t surprised that Brooke was voted off. I pretty much knew it was her going, but I still held out hope that by some miracle from God that David Archuleta would be going ba-bye. I just can’t handle his all to happy demeanor. Constantly smiling and just so happy all the time. The kid obviously sings really, really well…but his song choices every week are like the same type of songs. Slow, and lame. I think this week was the only week he sang a somewhat upbeat song with “America”. I was growing really tired though of Brooke’s face. I couldn’t handle another week of her lower lips coming up over her top lip. Jeremy said one week how her face just makes you want to punch her. Ha!

Another thing that is bothering me about Idol this season is the “themes” they are choosing. Like the most ridiculous artists. The contestants are young people, and they are giving them dolly Parton or Andrew Lloyd Webber. I mean really? Then Neil Diamond. Don’t get me wrong, I even like Neil Diamond. but if it weren’t for my childhood, I wouldn’t really careless about Neil Diamond. Maybe I wouldn’t even know any songs. When I was growing up my Grandma (Dad’s Mom) loooved Neil Diamond. She listened to his music, which then made me like Neil Diamond. Jazz Singer was my very first album at 7 years old. I remember seeing Jazz Singer the movie at the drive in with my Grandparent’s and my Aunt Boo who was 4 years older then I. So Mr. Diamond kinda holds a special place in my heart filled with some memories of my childhood.

So, last night I was bitching to Jeremy how they keep putting these older folks up there, and their music is kinda old you know? Why not pick something like The Doors? They have so many songs to choose from. They put out 6 studio albums before Jim Morrison died. At least that is music that younger people would dig more then Andrew Lloyd Webber…and I am pretty damn sure they could get at least Ray Manzarek to come on to Idol and help the contestants out…ya know? I know he seems to like to get out there and talk about The Doors and Jim and stuff. Or how about Van Morrison?

That would be really fab, and I’d get all kinds of excited.

Right now on t.v. is a documentary called Too Hot Not To Handle. It speaks of Global Warming. I also saw An Inconveniant Truth. I believe based on the facts shown that Global Warming is true and that it is not Propaganda. Why would anyone want to lie about Global Warming? I consider myself to be left-wing. My brother is extreme left wing. He knows a lot about politics, and can argue his way through a political debate. I don’t know much about politics. I know I usually agree with my brother. My brother spends his time educating himself about poilitics, and he know facts. There is this video he watched called The Great Global Warming Swindle, basically saying that Global Warming is a lie and the earth has always done this. They have fact’s also and you watch it, and you don’t know what to believe. Which one is right??? Has the earth always fluctuated? The video is over an hour long, but go watch it if you care about things like that or are interested and have an hour to spare watching a documentary. Then let me know what you think about it. I’m torn.

On the news right now, I’m watching a car chase. I don’t know about other parts of the county, but out here in Southern California it seems like high speed or low speed car chases are frequent. This is the second one I’ve seen today. Actually, I haven’t seen one in like a month or two, and before that not in awhile…but that might be because I was working. Maybe our news channels just liek to televise them.

Anyway, the newscasters crack me UP! Their commentary is just so fucking LAME, and it cracks me up! This guy keeps putting his hand out of the window, and they are saying “Oh, he’s flashing gang signs!”, “This man is covered with tattoos, and may be a gang member, involved in violent activity.” Mind you they know nothing about the guy. This car is an older Honda Accord, with paint off the roof, and hood. The guy says “This doesn’t appear to be a newer car…haha” The lady says “Yes, it is beaten up!” Ah, no shit! The guy stops and they all have their hands out the window. Newscaster says “Their hands are in the air” Nooooo!!!! Is that what that is?

“Well I guess he had his fast food, and his cigerette and decided it was over.” About the guy giving up. I don’t know, something tells me it was the tires all blown out, and not the food and cigarette.

I think I watch them just so I can laugh at the commentary and make snarky comments about them.

I think they guy is a pompous pig personally. He just gave his lecture on how the wifes should be honorable wives, and get along and he is finished. Ha! If I were the first wife, I’d fucking bail out on his ass…and take him for everything he’s worth since she is legally married to him for 21 years.

Oh man!!! I am so excited!!! My most beloved show in the history of the WORLD is coming to Bravo on Monday, October 2 @ 9pm!!!! Jeremy and I watched the whole series with Netflix. We just finished it like 5 months ago, but I am so ready for another go round! If you haven’t seen Six Feet Under before…you MUST watch it. Although I’m concerned because they won’t be showing all of it. Like the cussing, drug use and other risque things that made the show so very wonderful.

I was actually sad when I finished watching the series. I would think about the Fishers as I was driving, and get kinda sad that I couldn’t watch them ever again. Is that weird? Have you ever just really felt characters in a show before? I really don’t understand why they didn’t keep the show going longer. They easily could have kept going for at least another 5 years. I mean just for me.
